General Information:

Job Title: - Lab Specialist (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems- MEMS Laboratory Engineer)

Job Summary: -

  1. Manages and directs clean rooms in the Center of Excellence building and mechatronics department. Perform supervisory functions as established by management for this job.

  2. Schedules the clean room sessions in coordination with the Micro Electromechanical systems Laboratory supervisor.

  3. Coordinate with the professors regarding their course and graduation projects intended for students and ensure that all planned task requirements are met. This also includes the preparation of appropriate work areas for students, setting up suitable equipment, materials, and procedure of fabrication process design.

  4. Follows manual instructions regarding maintenance, and repair of equipment to ensure proper functioning during service time.

  5. Participates, with faculty members, carrying out lab tutorials, teaching, and instructing the undergraduate students.

  6. Coordinates with faculty members to prepare orders for updating equipment and accessories to meet educational and research requirements.

  7. Participate in implementing experiments in coordination with faculty members.

  8. Contributes to the formulation and modification of administrative and technical procedures adopted in the laboratories, and ensures such procedures are followed.

  9. Performs other administrative duties such as maintaining and updating the database of equipment catalogs, manuals, protocols of experiments, ensuring observance by subordinates of fire and safety regulations and the
    practice of good housekeeping, and salvaging tools and materials where possible.

  10. Prepares needed data for creating and improving the Lab website and participates in the preparation of the clean room annual report.

Job Requirement & Skills:

  1. Sc. degree in Mechatronics/ Mechanical/ Electronics Engineering.

  2. Good command of English language reading, writing and speaking.

  3. Ability to program and operate micro controllers.

  4. Understanding the specifications of the delivered tasks at hand and the desired result by reading engineering drawings.

  5. Ability to use at least one CAD software such as solid works, CorelDraw, AutoCAD.

  6. Review processing schedules and production orders to determine inventory requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.

  7. Assuring the highest quality standard for the output products by the first time.

  8. With good organization and administration skills, able to make good decisions, have a strong eye for details, and can prioritize a busy workload to meet deadlines.

  9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  10. Age doesn’t exceed 27 years old.
